We use this in our kitchen as our phone/answering machine/fax. It’s perfect. No problems with it. It takes up much less space than our old one. I would recommend for anyone that is looking for the convenience of having a fax machine in their home, but also wants a phone and answering machine.

Great on Kitchen Counter,

I was looking for a small all-in-one to replace an old telephone/answering machine that sat on my kitchen counter for years. This compact unit is not much bigger than my old telephone. Since it will store up to 18 received faxes in it’s memory (if out of paper) I do not keep paper in the tray. That way it takes up less space. The machine tells you if a fax is waiting to print, so I just add paper when an incomming fax is stored in memory. The answering machine works well. And the ring is pleasant. Even though it is a corded handset, this unit’s phone will not work if the power is out. Probably because it is combined with a fax function. If you are looking for a very compact unit, you won’t find anything better than this. I a very happy with it. It is hard to find locally unless you have a Fry’s near you.

The reason why I bought the Pansonic FX-FP215 was because of the fabulous Panasonic Cordless Phone/Answering Machine/Fax/Copier that sadly bit the dust after many years of faithful, excellent service even with heavy daily use. I was also impressed with the reviews of the product on Amazon. This machine takes up as much space as the older one, but has fewer features. The most annoying missing feature is that there is no memory for faxes, thus it is easy come, easy go – if you are faxed and don’t get it and the person who faxed gets a confirmation that the fax was received, well that’s an issue and it has happened often. The Panasonic help desk had me change my greeting and setting so now it is “ready” to receive faxes after three rings, jut one of a few tries to create a consistent fax recieving mode. Currently the fax component is not working properly – today Panasonic kept trying to fax me unsuccessfully all day (at least six times that I saw on the caller ID). Duh. Meanwhile I can fax anyone I want to without problem. Further I ordered replacement film from Panasonic on Oct. 11th and still have not received it. When I queried today they told me it was on backorder. Really, they confirmed my order Oct. 11th but did not tell me that there would be a delay – and we are now two weeks out. Its good that the fax receiving doesn’t work. (It still copies well so I know I have enough film in there) On the upside the answering machine keeps messages well. The copying feature is excellent and easy to use. The caller ID works well and if you are right by the machine when the phone rings its easy to read. Panasonic probably has better models, nevertheless, be sure you know what you want before you purchase. I can’t mail the machine to the nearest (3 hours away) repair center until I buy another one as I must have a reliable,consistent machine. |

This machine offers many features in need for my home office,especially the ease in which I can use one line for phone and fax, but the print quality leaves much to be desired. If you need anything other than than a draft quality printout, this machine is not what you want. Use as a copier, even in a home office setting, is limited to rough copies of the orginal.

This little machine has so many functions that makes my faxing life easier. I can have my faxes forwarded when out of office, set up a destinctive ring to save money on an extra line, and broadcast to multiple customers at once. The copy quality is ok for the price! I have tried many fax machines and have found Brother’s technology to be superior for the price.

This impersonation of a fax machine was nothing less of a paperweight. It jammed paper as much as my favorite blues band. The programming menu never worked right. I would set it to NOT RECEIVE, and guess what..IT RECEIVED. Most of all, it would constantly say “CHECK PAPER” with the paper IN the tray. Today I had taken it out by the plug and smashed it into the walk alongside my house…Boy do I feel better!!! AVOID THIS GARBAGE. |
